Tucker and the baby will be 20 months apart....I start hyperventilating when I say that. The story goes that I was in AZ visiting my family with Tucker while Sean was on a business trip. I was really nauseous and tired and stuff and could not figure out why. So finally at the end of my trip in the airport I decided to get a prego test and take it in one of the stalls and BAMM 2 lines appear. I was completely shocked and freaked but held it in until later that night when I got home and was tickling Seans back and spelt it out on his back. He responded with "ARE YOU KIDDING ME? SWEAR ON OUR MARRIAGE" haha.

So now I am smack in the middle of the worst morning sickness I have had. Tucker was pretty miserable and annoying in pregnancy but I was never THIS sick. So all I can say is it better be a girl. I feel like I may not be able to survive another day cuz my life now is laying in fetal position on my couch with a throw up container while tuck entertains himself and eventually comes over and screams in my face since I am not giving him attention. Then he goes down for a nap and I move myself to my bed until he wakes up. Being in the kitchen makes me throw up...in fact walking through the kitchen does as well which is very inconvenient since all the bedrooms and bathroom is through the kitchen. So I feed Tucker on the floor in the living room. And the worst thing to admit is I swear sometimes Tuck makes me sick. He will crawl over and he is just a dirty boy at this age with food everywhere and dirt. He comes and climbs on me and I get sick haha.

Make up is now foreign to me along with jeans and a shirt. Sweatpants 24/7 with my hair in a bun is my life now. Thank goodness my sister comes down to help me when I need it from Heber since she gets extremely sick in pregnancy as well so she is super sister ready to help.

Now for my dramatic side that I will blame on hormones and nobody judge. I honestly feel like this may be it. I am sure down the road maybe I will change my mind but I dont know how to function being this sick. Tucker was a really hard newborn/baby so I get myself freaked out that I am sick sick sick and then I will have a newborn and another baby that isnt even 2 yet and cant communicate yet and I will be done for. My only hope is this one is easier than Tuck was :-) I still love you Tuck...you are worth it. But I think we may have a bigger gap in between this coming one and the next.

So now all you mommies out there. How long were you sick for and did it at least tame down a little before going away? I am desperate for any comforting that it wont be 9 months of sickness.

Tucker update

I havent written in forever and there are so many things that have happened, specifically with Tucker. I took Tuck to the doctor for a normal check up a few months back and they were a little concerned about his motor skills and things so they referred me to PEIP that is an early intervention program for babies. They came to my house and tested Tuck to see if he qualifies for their program ( you have to be 7% or below developmentally). Well he was 2%......so he definitely qualified. They have started coming and doing physical therapy and stuff on him since he has a sensory disorder. He doesnt like the feel of pressure especially on his hands and arms. So he was 10 months and still not crawling or even attempting to. The program is amazing and with their help in a week he was crawling! Thats awesome but there is still so much more to cover. He hates being overly touched or held. So it makes it hard because he wants me to hold him but then doesnt like the feel of being touched so cries as I am holding him but cries more when I put him down. So I put him down and he climbs onto me and I hold him and he starts pushing me away. I guess these are all signs of his problem (its a long word that I cant even remember).
They are a little concerned because after working with him and touching/playing with him he gets really irritated and I cant even calm him down. So we are trying to find ways that he can pull himself back together and recuperate from exercises. The problem is we cant just let him have his way and not work with him because then he will never excel or become used to pressure.
So the people just left and I am just slightly down because Tucker was so happy when they got here and then we do massages and activities with him and he gets so upset and they are watching me and helping me with ideas of how to calm him and nothing works. It just makes me feel like a bad mom that my son doesnt want to cuddle with and I cant calm him down and they are watching. The next step is to try things like making a blanket fort with classical music or something to sit in with him when he has his freak out....so its his little getaway place to pull himself together.
This disorder is really common with babies that dont breathe when they are born. That if you dont know is what happened with Tucker. He didnt breathe on his own for 8 minutes and then was on oxygen for 48 hours and the first 24 hours wasnt very responsive at all. So he is a little miracle baby but now just needs a little push in the right direction.
I am so thankful though for this program so we were able to catch this problem early and get a handle on it. The right now is a challenge but I just need to look in the future and see that I am helping him. I cant believe he is going to a year in a month! I am so proud of him!

help

So Tucker is now 9 months old and has entered the stage of tantrums. I am going to rant for a few minutes and anyone that has had children do this....please give me some advice. For the past week Tucker throws HUGE screaming/crying/kicking fits when it is naptime or bed time or diaper changing time or getting dressed. He absolutely freaks out. Last night we let him cry for three hours going in and trying to calm him but he wouldnt calm down and finally my husband at 2 in the morning took him for a stroller ride around until he fell asleep. Now he is screaming once again in his crib after Sean held him for 45 minutes screaming for a nap and he just wont calm down. I honestly dont know what to do.
Are we supposed to discipline a 9 month old? Do we leave him in the room or hold him while he cries? He cries until he throws up and is just a wreck. We can only hold him for so long before it really starts to get to us and we have to leave the situation. And we dont think he is in pain because as soon as he gets what he wants he stops crying.
So we havent slept in awhile and are desperate for help. We just dont want to take him on a walk before putting him down because then he will fall into a bad habit and we will kick ourselves for it.

What to do ??????

6 is my new favorite number

everyone told me at 6 months your baby becomes so easy and i was always skeptical....it is true people!! I love it. Tuck all of the sudden doesnt scream in the car the entire time, will play by himself, can sit by himself, doesnt cry much, and laughs and smiles ALL the time. He is just the sweetest. Now the real test is flying with him tomorrow to az by myself. I have never flown with him and I am slightly nervous that he will be one of the screaming babies that everyone wants to kill. But we will see. I am going to AZ for my brothers mission farewell and staying for a couple weeks. Sean wont be coming until next weekend so I will be missing him but having fun with the family.

Sean and I just celebrated our 3 year anniversary. I cannot believe it has been that long already. We just went out to eat and took Tuck with us since Sean wanted to celebrate it as a family. Sean also started a new job the day of our anniversary! He is working at the mtc again but is now a boss. He loves it and i am so proud of him for getting it. We are on a string of luck right now so we feel really blessed.

Tucker is finally sorta eating solids...i dont have to completely shove it down his throat anymore. He still hates fruits but will eat vegetables. I have discovered he will eat more and be happy about it if I let him hold the spoon with me. But it makes the biggest mess and by the end he is covered with food as well as i am. BUT it works so we do it.

He still hates his tummy time. At his 6 month appointment the doctor said she has never seen a baby with such a phobia of his tummy. If you even try to start to put him on his tummy he starts shaking and crying. So she thinks its something psychological since he had colic and stuff as an infant and maybe tummy time used to hurt him....sad. Sooooo she thinks he is going to be a butt scooter. He has been sitting completely on his own since 5 1/2 months so she thinks because of that and tummy time he will only scoot and then walk haha. oh well..

I am so excited for the summer and the fun memories we are going to be able to make as a family. I cant wait!

Bye Bye Boobs

I officially have had to say goodbye to my boobs. When people say after nursing they shrink to smaller than before, they weren't kidding!!! So a warning to all that haven't experienced this...enjoy them while it lasts :-)

Tuck is 5 months now and just loving life. He has taken a liking to any one that is a girl. It is pretty amusing to watch. Yesterday we were at a fireside and they was a cute baby girl across from us and Tuck literally just stared at her the whole time smiling. It cracks me up. Sadly he still isnt sleeping through the night. I swear he is getting worse. But the pediatrician said that when he is 6 months he should be able to sleep 10-12 hours a night without a feeding and I am probably going to have to force him. So thats going to be really fun but I figure it will be nice in the long run.

He has just started some solids and it took him a long time to even open and accept them. Finally he has decided he really likes sweet potatoes. yum yum. Randomly he has decided he hates the pacifier so he doesn't want it at all. Not even to go down to sleep...but I guess this means i won't have to wean him. It is still WW3 when I try and put him down for a nap. It consists of screaming, crying, scratching, and pulling my hair as I start rocking him yet within 2 minutes he is sound asleep. Slightly ridiculous but funny. I just have to keep my head clear so he cant scratch my face because trust me...he has. And he has just reached that age where anything he grabs he wants to squeeze as hard as possible haha. So a lot of times it ends up being your face or neck. Very painful. Another new thing he has started which sounds nice when said but I hate it is he only poops every other day. This makes for an explosion without fail. The smell is through the roof and you have to evacuate the apartment and air it out if you cant handle the smell for the next two hours. I never knew something so cute could smell so bad!

My family is all in town on Friday which I cannot wait for. Sean has been really busy with school and work so I am excited to have some company. My little sis is going to stay here in UT for the summer and work which is awesome. Her, me and Aub are really close so I am excited we are all going to be here. Sean's parents also were here for a night and will come through again later this week. So it was fun seeing them as well. Nothing beats family!

Cry Cry Cry

It is no fun when your little one decides to cry all night and then all day. I cannot figure out what is wrong with him! he is almost 4 months so MAYBE he is teething but that is so young still. He is biting everything and he bites his own fingers so hard it makes him cry (which is actually pretty funny to watch). I try and feel his gums but I have no clue what I am feeling for and it feels normal. He WOULD NOT sleep last night and finally we just had to let him cry it out because he was like crying in his sleep. You would go in and his eyes would still be closed. Then all day he has been way fussy. Weird... I dont like bad days. Its days like this that I start thinking I could never have another baby haha. Not for a long time at least.
I have a new goal and its working out 5 days a week. 3 days at the gym and 2 at home. I have lost all my pregnancy weight and everything but I still feel like my stomach is disgusting. So I am basically working my stomach muscles out to the maximum. I really hope it works....Wish me luck!

On your mark, get set, CRAWL!!

My cute little nephew was in a crawling race at babiesrus today. It was the cutest thing I have ever watched. I actually won his first race and went to the championship. That one was a little more intimidating for him since there were so many babies and people screaming to crawl...he completely froze but still looked adorable. The winner was this poor little girl that just bawled as she crawled across the finish line cuz she was so scared. It was the cutest thing ever. She deserved the free diapers.
I cant wait till Tucker can crawl. I know I shouldnt want him to grow up so fast and I will miss him being small but I just think it will be so much fun! He still surprises me every day with something new that he can do and it just makes me soooo proud.
So we are on WIC (women, infant, children) and are now giving Tuck formula. I had enough breastmilk frozen for about a year but I have high lactic acid which I didnt know at the time in my milk. So when it is stored it turns sour tasting and smelling. So Tuck refuses which I dont blame him. But WIC gives you Similac formula and Tuck is used to Enfamil. But I gave it a try since it's cheaper for WIC. It was miserable. No good for his stomach. So we went to sensitive...still no good. We then had to get a prescription from the doc for enfamil and I decided to do the gentlease since my little one has the WORST gas ever. I think with all the change he got major backed up and constipated. So he didnt poop for 3 days. I was starting to get slightly concerned cuz he was eating so MUCH and nothing was coming out! On my pediatricians website it says to give them apple juice in their bottle to help before coming to the doctor. Worth a shot right? He GUZZLED it. He loves apple juice and drinks twice as much with it. Funny kid.
Now your wondering...did it work? Holy cow yes. I am pretty sure his entire system is cleared now. Not like he got sick, just everything started moving and there was a lot of it. So I swear by apple juice now with a baby. When they can have solids it probably is easier since you feed them fruit and stuff but for now he cant have that stuff. But if anyone ever has this problem its ounces/month of age every day mixed with milk.
Well I should probably get busy with other things considering my house looks like someone broke in and tore the place apart and I look like I've been attacked :-). The lovely part of being a mother is there are days you dont even brush your hair....you come to love the ponytail style with sweatpants. One of these days I'll catch up to everything :-)

Useless Advice

Twice now I have been given advice from a lady at a store by our house about how to get your baby to sleep through the night. She heard me talking tonight to another lady about how we are sleep training Tucker and she chimes in for the second time saying, "if you feed your baby till he is full before putting him to bed, he will sleep through the night."
......really??? Who do you know that doesnt feed their baby till they are full? I honestly think that was the worst advice I have ever been given. And when I told her that I do she continued to say no I dont because I have to make sure he is so full that he "kunks" out. Thank you so much for that piece of information. All this time I must be putting him to bed starving.... ughh.

Anyways Tucker has decided to eat most of his food at night and then not eat much during the day so he can play. Great for him...miserable for me. So last night my lovely husband gave me headphones and music and let him cry it out for 3 hours (of course he would go in and console him) because we had to let him be hungry for a night in order to get him to eat during the day again. Luckily it worked but we will see how it goes tonight. Silly boy...

Lastly, I have always thought I would never miss the newborn stage because it was so hard with Tucker and exhausting. I am always wanting him to grow up and get big. Well I visited my friend today at the hospital and stopped and looked in at the nursery and saw the brand new babies. I forget how small they are and just so cute! It melted my heart and immediately I was thinking to myself that I could have another one of those. haha I never thought that day would come. But I am still content with just having Tuck for now. He keeps me busy :-)

Life with a baby

It's amazing how different your life changes once you have a baby. even your outlook on everything!! Tucker is 3 1/2 months old now...i cant believe it. Actually I can since he had colic and so it was pretty hard haha. But he has come around and realized there is actually joy in life. He is just a cutie and Sean and I love him so much. He makes everything worth it when he smiles and giggles at you. Its funny how you can be so frustrated with your baby and then all the sudden they smile and you forget everything.
Tucker has discovered his voice and loves to tell stories. I have learned that I cant rock him to sleep because he will just keep talking and talking even though he is tired. So i have to just put him in his crib and he talks himself to sleep.

one of the things I have noticed that is way different in my life with Tucker is how you respond to crying. Dont get me wrong...I still go to Tucker and comfort him when he cries but it used to completely stress me out and I would get so frustrated. Now I can just keep talking to him and be like...your fine....nothings wrong. And I have to say everything is so much easier with that attitude that Tucker is just a fussy baby and loves to complain :-) I think he takes after his dad....dont tell.

He is now sleeping from 730 to 1030 and then eats. and then goes till 430 and eats again and then wakes up for the day at 830. So not too bad. He still isnt one of those babies that everyone brags about sleeping 12 hours thru the night. but he is better than he used to be so we are thrilled.

Sean went and spoke to his counselor at school and for sure he graduates December 2011. He could do it this summer but we decided for him to take it easy and work more in the summer. Plus we are in a great apartment and I am content where we are. And secretly I know when he graduates it means it's time to move and I live so close to my sister and best friends and I am scared to death of leaving them all. Aubreigh and I have always lived near to each other and see each other every week. So it breaks my heart thinking of living in different states soon.

But anyways I am an official stay home mom that loves getting together with other moms and just talking about babies and their differences. Its pretty funny. I am home all day just taking care of my little one so whenever anyone is bored...come visit!

Baby Tucker

Tucker is finally here with us and we are so happy to have him. It has definitely changed our lives so quickly. Who knew that you could be this tired and that nights could last so long!!!! For the first couple weeks he would NOT sleep in his own room and crib but he has finally gotten used to it (thank goodness) and he sleeps in there and wakes up every 3 hours to feed like clock work. Luckily I have an amazing husband that takes half the night for me and feeds him so I can get some sleep. We have to feed him bottles and I pump so he still gets my breastmilk. He had really bad jaundice and they wanted him to have his system flushed so we were ordered to give him bottles and some formula which made him hate breastfeeding. So we do bottles now :-) At least now I can actually see how many ounces he is getting and have peace of mind that he isnt starving.

Sunday on 10/10/10 I was having consistant contractions for the third day in a row so we decided to go into the hospital just to see if I had dilated anymore or anything. I had been to the doctor 2 days before then and I was at a 1 and 90% effaced. We were pretty sure we would get turned away but Sean really wanted a 10/10/10 baby and my induction date was just a few days away so we decided what the heck. Well of course I was the same but they could see my contractions were every 2-4 minutes apart and then they noticed that the baby's heartbeat was dropping during every contraction which made them nervous. So they decided to keep me and induce me slowly and watch the heartbeat of the baby. So I had to wear an oxygen mask for a couple hours to help the baby out since he seemed stressed with the contractions. They were going to do the balloon thing to help dilate me more and then start me on potosin. So the doctor comes in and he is one of the 2 that would deliver me depending who was on call. He is brand new so we didnt know him very well but he was in the WORST mood ever. Even the nurses were turned off by him. He came in and didnt even say hello. Literally just told me to open my legs and then he just about killed me. Without telling me he decided to do the whole dilating thing with his hand instead of the balloon. So im writhing in pain and my sister is running to my side to hold my hand. Then he finishes and takes his glove off and doesnt even say sorry or anything. he claims he was tired cuz it was 12:30 AM but its not like I wasnt tired too.

So i get on the potosin and waited awhile till I got an epidural. Then the next morning the other doctor came in and checked me and decided to break my water cuz i was at a 3 or 4. So I got the epidural which I was terrified of and it was not completely painless like so many people say. So that kicked in and it was heaven. They break my water and that was even better haha. But then all the sudden I start feeling really bad contractions again and they keep telling me to just push the button which I do and it does nothing for me. So I go from being dilated at a 6 to a 9 1/2 feeling every contraction with the epidural not working. The guy comes back in that did it and checked it and said that it must have pocketed or something in my spine and not gone thru or something so he re did it again. Then I went completely numb and was happy once again. But of course 20 min later I feel the contractions full on once again and they are telling me its time to push and I am freaking out that I am feeling everything. LUCKILY i felt every contraction like normal but down low I felt nothing. So the baby coming out was not painful...just the contractions. So I am one of the few people that the epidural doesnt work on.....just lovely.

So baby's head comes out first and then instead of having me just push him out the rest they quickly pull him out and rush him over to the table and he isnt crying and was completely blue. So the nurses are calling doctors and saying code blue and stuff and then calling the helicopter to get ready to transport. It was the worst feeling in the world being stuck on that bed and just seeing nurses running everywhere and knowing my baby wasnt breathing. They ended up bagging him and then I see them wrap him in a blanket and literally run out of the room with him. He didnt breathe for 8 minutes and they dont know why. His heart rate and everything else was great but he just didnt want to breathe or cry. Once he started breathing, he still needed help for the next 24 hours and was under oxygen and very close surveillance. He wasnt allowed to leave the nursery and I didnt get to see him for a few hours and I would have to go in there to see him. We were pretty scared and they ran tests on him the next couple days and could not figure out what was wrong. Finally the doctor came to us and told us he was a miracle and to put a smile on our faces and be grateful cuz no one will ever know why this happened. He said he had never seen this happen before where there was no damage or birth defect or something more serious. It is unheard of that he didnt breathe for so long and then all of the sudden started to. So we feel extremely blessed to have him here with us.

He weighed 6 lbs 15 oz and was 20 1/2 in long. He is just a little peanut. He just had his 2 week appt and he is in the 11th percentile for weight and 7th percentile for his head hahaha. Just tiny. It is definately a lot more work than I ever thought it would be to be a mom but I love it. Of course you have the brief moments of "what have I done" but they pass. I definitely never knew you could feel so much love so quickly for someone. And for it to be so strong. It is an experience I will never forget.

4 weeks left!

Who believes that is 4 weeks (hopefully) I am officially going to be a mother to a little boy. I cannot believe the time is getting so close but I am beyond excited. I am only at the beginning of the one month away countdown and it already seems like the longest month of my life haha. I just want to meet the little guy and get to know him and see what he looks like and see Sean interact with him and everything. There is just so much I am so excited for. Which is way nice cuz it distracts me from my fears of having a child as well.
the 3rd trimester hasnt been too shabby. I feel huge of course but Im not sick and everything is going well baby wise so I cant complain. The one complaint i do have is I now consider myself part werewolf because my husband and I discovered the other night my nice coat of darker hair I have grown on my back from the hormones this trimester. Luckily it goes away after giving birth and all will be normal but for now I am part of the wolf family.... It is so weird to think that next month I will have someone that is dependent on me and need me 24/7 and is my responsibility for the next 18+ years.

Sean is getting really excited as well to have the baby. Everytime I have more than one little contraction he thinks we should go to the hospital :-) Its pretty funny. I think he is more excited cuz he wants to speed to the hospital and basically be a wreckless driver like in the movies when realistically it wont be necessary.

Anyways everything is well and I am so excited for Tucker to come out a play....hopefully sooner than later but I cant get my hopes up!!

hormones

my hormones this week are soaring. I am not sure if this is a normal but it is not fun at all. I got a sudden surge of them or something and I am way emotional about everything. Sometimes I can laugh about it but other times I am just upset. Sean doesnt seem to understand anything about being emotional or anything and i swear he gives me a hard time about everything 24/7 and it always ends with me upset. I keep explaining that i am sensitive and he cant tease me like normal when im not pregnant but it seems he cannot get past it and it has worsened. I know I am out of whack cuz when he teases i start thinking that he has made it his life mission to make me upset when everyone knows that is just dramatic. oooh lovely hormones. All i can say is i cannot wait to be back to my normal self.
In the past few months I had plenty of little freak outs about actually having a baby and how much everything is going to change but I am getting a lot better now. I am now so excited to meet my little boy and see what his personality is like and what he looks like. I am still nervous of course and worried about how much work it is but seeing how much I can love my sisters little baby when he isnt even mine....i cant imagine the amount of love a mom feels for her child. Quinn isnt even my baby but i would do anything for him (including sitting in the back seat to make him happy in the canyon till my sister had to pull over and let me throw up :-) ).

My sister in law comes in tomorrow to stay with me for a week and then we head up to wyoming for the 4th of july. she is going to help me set up the nursery and then go to the eclipse opening show with my friends and me on my bday!!! How lovely that I get to go out on a date with Edward and Jacob on my bday...couldnt get better than that. So the next week is looking like its gonna be pretty exciting. cant wait!

Lots of Pics

Basically this is just a picture update for everyone and so that my sister can copy them to her computer :-) But the pic of me first is me at 22 weeks pregnant since a bunch of people have been asking me to post a picture

<img style="display:block; Im not gonna lie...I am a little scared. I always thought I would have a girl first so it threw me off a little but I am still so excited. We went to fetal foto and it was such a neat experience! We loved it. He was definately wide awake in me and using my uterus as his little aerobics room. The nurse was shocked that I couldnt feel him kicking yet cuz he was just pounding away in there. She said he was the most active baby she has seen in awhile. So we will see if he is the same way when he comes out! So i am 15 weeks now and my sickness is still getting better as long as I take my medicine to help it. But my stomach is getting more and more big every day. It is the weirdest feeling. You know that feeling when you eat too much and you think...my stomach skin is soo stretched feeling. Thats how it feels all the time but you are out of breath on top of it. And this is just the start haha.

Once in awhile I will feel something like a small kick of some sort but I dont know if its the baby or if it is just gas....I hear that is common haha. So here are some pictures of little Tucker

Another good news is that Sean and I think we found an apartment. It is a complete stealing deal and you better believe I did everything in my power to get it before the other people that were supposedly applying at the same time. I went slightly psycho and was throwing cash at the poor guy but I think we got it! We find out tomorrow. Its 3 bedrooms 1 bath and the best part....There is a DISHWASHER!!!! soo soooo happy bout that. So if we get it I will be painting it just to make it cuter and putting some cute wallpaper in the baby room probably. I dont know if you are allowed to paint when ur prego though but i hope so. Anyways Ill let u know if we get it!

mini baby bump

So I have reached 13 weeks with my pregnancy which I am pretty excited about. I am finally starting to have good days and some bad but at least there are good days in there. This week though I have reached the point where I am beginning to really notice my stomach. Its not big yet but there is something there and since I am smaller I think I notice it more. For example I love to sleep in a tiny ball and that is not working so well anymore with the stomach in the way. or bending way over. Another example is today I was climbing through the window which sounds weird but I was playing with my cat and decided that was the last time while being pregnant that I would be able to do it cuz it was a struggle. It is a very odd thing to get used to having something that kinda gets in the way when your not used to it....and im not even sticking out a bunch yet hhaha. But i love it and it just makes me feel more pregnant now that I have a little something. My baby is 3 inches long now and we just got to hear its heartbeat for the second time. it is so amazing.

Another plus is I have gotten my energy back and I think my mood is going up a little at a time. Most women are emotional while pregnant.....well im just angry. And who gets to deal with it? My poor husband Sean. I think at one point he was convinced that I hated him. Im pretty sure I am a scary pregnant lady but hopefully its fading but Sean would be the one to know if I have tamed or not :-) But the thought of hanging out with people and being in public is seeming more and more fun and I miss it whereas before I just wanted to lay around all day. So i am pretty happy bout that.

Here is a picture of my little tiny bump. I see other people at 13 weeks and they are showing so much more! Im like....come on baby grow!!! But here I am at 13 weeks

Baby Quinn

My sister is officially a mom and I am an aunt!!! I am so excited. On monday she had a c section and had her baby Quinnton. He is absolutely adorable. I just love him so much. He weighed 7 pounds 9 ounces and the second they lifted him out of her tummy he let out a HUGE scream. I couldnt be more happy for my sister. She is going to be a great mother to him. She gets released today from the hospital which we are so excited about. The baby is completely healthy but Aub has seen better days. Her blood pressure sky rocketed and wouldnt come down so they didnt want her leaving the hospital. She knows all the technical stuff bout it so dont ask me....ask her.

This had made me so excited for my baby. I know I still have a bit of sickness to go but hooray for a good day! I was able to wake up and get the house cleaned, grocery shop, and best of all.....straighten my hair!!! for everyone that has curly hair that normally straightens it you all know what I mean when you havent been able to straighten it for awhile and then finally get to. I actually have hair and not some rat nest on top of my head. Sean and I are going to chiles tonight to use a gift card we won since we dont know when the next "good" day will be that i can go out haha.
I have been so anxious for my sister Aubreigh to have her cute little boy. She is due on Wednesday but I am sure she is getting the feeling that this baby is never going to leave her tummy. In the baby's defense....Aub stayed in our moms tummy past her due date so her boy is just taking after her :-) But I am so excited to get that phone call saying she is on her way to the hospital. I cant wait to meet my little nephew!!!

joys of morning sickness

Today is not such a good day. So if you arent in the mood to read something negative, i suggest u skip this one. I just need to vent about how I feel and what is going on. Everyone talks about how joyful pregnancy is and how it is just the greatest thing. Im not finding that at all. Of course im excited about having a baby and starting a family but to be totally honest, I see a single girl walking around looking all healthy and able to actually eat without throwing up and I feel so jealous.
my worst is at night for some reason and i come to the point where i feel like i cant go on another day with the morning sickness. it sounds so dramatic and it is but lets be honest....we have all been there at one point with something. But i have been okay because i thought i would only be sick for another week or so. Well come to find out I have at least another month of this. How do people do this and then get excited for it again? It feels like I am never going to get better in these 9 months and I am so discouraged.

I think what i struggle with the most is that it reminds me so much of depression and when i hit rock bottom with it. You have the same pit of your stomach turning feeling and nothing sounds appetizing and the last thing you want to do is eat. The throwing up and feeling like you will never be cured or feel better. but the worst would be the feeling of stuck...just feeling like there is absolutely nothing I can do and no one else can do. Like I wake up every morning feeling the same way and will go through the same routine and feeling sick and then more and more sick till the end of the day when I am laying on our couch crying cuz i dont want to do another day.

I know I am a wimp and I am not looking for pity at all. I just really need to write it out and vent. It is the only way to get all these feelings out of me. I do know how lucky i am that i am able to be pregnant and have a child when there are so many women out there that would kill to feel the morning sickness I feel cuz it would mean they could carry a baby. And i am forever grateful for that. I just dont see why God had to decide that we would be sick while pregnant as if child birth wasnt enough.

Sean is Mr healthy in my eyes now even though he is so stressed and everything. All he had to do was plant the seed and sit back and watch. Such unfairness. I wish they got morning sick with us just to see that its the real deal and we arent faking it. I promise Sean that I dont walk around the house making myself dry heave 24/7 for fun or attention. I would much rather prefer to have a nice evening.

Anyways I sure hope this goes away sooner than later and I can begin to enjoy being pregnant. Hopefully I wont lose all my friends because of how moody and out of it i have been for the past few weeks. I know my husband dreads coming home :-) But he is a good sport. Anyways if you stuck through this whole thing thanks for listening and dont judge me....I just simply needed to vent a little

Stroller and car seat!

I went out to eat with my good friend Sami today at kneaders (yummm) and she was way nice and gave me a great deal on her stroller/carseat that she used with audree. So i found out at the beginning of February at work that i was pregnant. funny cuz we were all just kinda joking around about it and got a test and then i was like....oh my gosh!!! is that a line???? So i told sean and we decided to keep it hush hush for a month or so just in case anything went wrong or something. but then sean could see me getting antsy and wanting to tell everyone so we told a little early :-) let me just tell you....keeping something secret from my family is not easy. I talk to my sister or mom daily and i was feeling sick and moody. It was funny cuz i would wonder about what i could eat or do when i am pregnant and so i would call my mom and be all, "so my friend is pregnant and is wondering if she can eat shrimp still" haha. then i wanted to get everything in order before telling my family and i needed my birth certificate from my mom like immediately and she was a tough one to get thru. the one time she was stubborn about something and really worried it was horrible cuz i couldnt tell her the truth so i had to lie and tell her it was for work which made things worse cuz she didnt like that my work wanted the original and everything. So finally i just had to say "mom i am trying to surprise you and you are ruining it!"
So i told my family by sending them a card saying congrats on the grandchild and then sent them some binkies. I sent Seans family a cross stitch about grandparents and a card too. So it was pretty fun telling everyone.

I get my first ultra sound a week from today and i cant wait! it will make everything feel so much more real. we cant wait to have a mini us running around in 7 months. pretty crazy to think about. My sister is having her baby hopefully this week so its fun knowing our kids will be close in age. we will have to force them to be best friends.

So my goal is to stay updated and write on here but we will see how it goes!

Hair..... Hair..... and more Hair

I decided I am due for updating my blog and what better to do than post some of the new haircuts and colors I have done lately :-) . I am still at Paul mitchell but only have a few months left hopefully. I am going to start day and night school in September to try and make it go by faster. As much as I love school....I want out! But at the same time that means not seeing my friends as much and everyone going their separate ways which is always sad.

Sadly though nothing new really is going on with Sean and me. BUT my sister Aubreigh that is here in Provo is now pregnant which is wayyyy exciting. ONly bummer is that she is extremely sick and I am not going to lie....it scares me to get pregnant anytime soon.

So some of my clients were so nice to let me take pictures of them for my portfolio and stuff so here they are! this first one is Katie from my ward and we cut a lot off so that she could just do her hair easy for the day

This one was a client that came in for a trm and left with a whole new short cut. it was funny since she had hair to her shoulders almost and then we kept going shorter and shorter till she decided she wanted it all gone. This time we did highlights (toned with 9P), lowlights (5NN), and block c0loring (5RR). The block coloring is the red at the front of the hair that is like a peekaboo coming through the bottom. Turned out way cute. The haircut I did was square graduation in the back angled into an A line with lots of layers and texture.

Okay and last I did this just the other day on a client. It is block coloring again but much more intense. I took 1 inch diagonal sections throughout her hair and did everyother lightener and 4CM which is a dark mahagony brown. Then once the lightener did its job I put 6RV and 5VR on top of it to make it pretty red like she wanted. We had to lighten it first since her hair was too dark that the red wouldnt be vibrant and noticeable like she wanted it. She loves it and I think it was such a fun experience that not many people are brave to try.

And then obviously this can be done with any colors like a brown and then caramel peeking through to look more subtle or something.... way cute. :-)

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://murphyamber.blogspot.com/2009/08/hair-hair-and-more-hair.html' title='Hair..... The reason for this is because when we first got married we got a comforter that was supposed to be gray and it definitely wasn't...more like a purple. And it was really hot. So I went shopping with my sister Aubreigh who is queen of discount shopping and she helped me find a cute bedspread. We didn't see the pink in the store but I still love it. Sean is a little concerned with how girly it looks but lets face it....he is married now and it was going to happen eventually.

I also made this cow...i got the wood at a garage sale and painted it and everything. I saw Shiying who I havent seen in forever which was really fun. She had been wanting to learn how to curl her hair for a long time so I curled it for her and took some pictures.

this is my family's new puppy Kona

My sister wanted something new done with her hair so I did a block color of some blonde in it. I have a nice sink and stuff in my apartment to do hair in. We decided to use Redken and Matrix color instead of paul mitchell because I secretly think they are sooo much better. And I have to say the turn out was great. Kara went from blonde to a brown/red. I love it on her. I dont have a picture of the after yet but I will definately get one and post it.

Dentist appointment gone bad

I went to the dentist yesterday for a cleaning and to ask about my gums back where I had gotten my wisdom teeth removed about 5 years ago. Every other month my gums get inflamed and really sore for about 3 weeks and it hurts to talk, eat....well pretty much everything. So he looked at them and I guess my mouth is too small that I am not able to fit my gums back there and so they are squished which makes them easy to get irritated when I bite down or anything. So he said the best option would be to cut the gum off where there was too much. This of course sounded painful and scary but at the same time it was hurting so bad already I decided to do it. Well I have never had a cavity or anything in my life so anything other than just getting my teeth cleaned freaks me out.
He gets out this huge shot and has to numb my gums first which that alone scared me haha. I warned him that I get woozy really easy and pass out so he had to put the cartoon movie Pocahantus on for me while he did it. Then the nurse is holding the suction tube thing and he gets out this scapel and starts to remove the gum and she is suctioning up all the blood. Sick huh...I was so scared. I didnt feel anything which is good but just the thought freaked me out. Then he put gauze in my mouth and told me I had to clamp down on it hard for 45 minutes at least to stop the bleeding and for some reason that just really grossed me out. So as he is explaining to me that it will take 6 weeks to heal and I can only eat certain things I started to get sick and blurry vision. So i tell him I need to lay down and he helps me out and then continues explaining things to me. Then I start getting clamy and I knew I was about to pass out so they had to put wet washcloths on my face and get me water and have me watch more of the movie.
At that point I was really embarrassed cuz I couldnt get control of myself but I also didnt want to move and have another pass out episode like I did with the other doctor last month. So i get up and go to pay and cant even make it down the hallway without having to put my head down. So I am trying to pay and keep having to get on the ground. Embarassing huh...
But I am happy to say I never passed out which is amazing for me. I had to take the rest of the day off cuz once the numbing wore off it was pretty sore but lets hope it will fix everything. I guess its a 50/50 chance that it will just come back and we would have to do it again. If so.... Note TO Self....dont go alone and bring my husband to help me haha

A lines galore!

Today Kenzie decided to get her hair cut to an A line randomly and so I got to do it! We cut about 6 inches off and it looks so good on her. I am so happy she did it. I just think shorter hair makes people look so much older. So now we look like twiners with short hair and the same color too haha. I guess we were just meant to be friends. Now we just need to get Kara and Rosanne to do it too :-)
Then I got to cut my friend Alyssa's hair tonight into a longer A line. It looks way good on her too. I just love that cut. It was fun getting to know her better as well and she gave me a yummy recipe for broccoli cheese soup! I am so excited to try it!!

Here are some pics of Kenzie's hair.

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; I spent the first part of the day at school working on clients which actually ended up being pretty fun. I first had a scalp treatment and then I did a full weave with 2 colors on a lady. Lovely Kara was sooo nice and helped me and did half of it. It turned out so good too. I was so proud of us. It looked really even and all. Then my husband brought me a rose and a cute letter :-) He is so sweet. It made my day.
Later on we went out to eat at red robin and then went to see a movie. We saw Hes just not that into you. It was actually pretty good. I thought it was funny. Last night we saw Bolt in the dollar theater and it is hilarious. If you havent seen it yet....you need to.
Then we got home and there was a lovely article on our door with a title "Cliche ways to propose". Then there was a paragraph circled with a sentence underlined saying "Never EVER propose on Valentines Day" and then continues on about how cliche it is and that every girl should say no.
Who is this from? We dont know for sure. But I am guessing it is from the same people that coke bombed our doorstep awhile ago as well. I guess not everyone grows up.... It just reminds me of high school with the mean comments and everything that were said and it seems to have continued on. Im not going to lie...it was pretty hurtful. I loved being proposed to on valentines day and the way Sean did it was just perfect. And who really cares about the proposal. I have an amazing husband and an amazing marriage and thats all I care about. Sadly someone out there really doesnt like us and I have an inkling of who it is and I am not sure what i have done to upset them. But we arent going to let it get us down and I loved this day today and I loved it last year. Every year on this holiday I will be reminded of our Engagement and I couldnt be happier.
I am just lucky to have a husband like Sean to keep myself straight. When I get worked up like I did tonight he is so good at calming me down and bringing sense to it. He keeps me from attacking people with my revenge ideas when I am angry haha.... what a guy!
But this holiday was great this year and i hope everyone elses was. Happy Valentines day!

Just chop it off!

So today I was at school and I was sitting at my station trying to do something with my hair and NOTHING would work for me. My hair was at the point where since it is so fine I couldnt get any body and the ends were just so thin and limp. So i looked over at my friends Rosanne and Kara and said "I want to chop my hair off!" then the more I thought about it the better it sounded. I was so scared though so I would only let Jen do it at first but then she couldnt and she said to ask Sarah who is another great LL. So I had her do it and she did an amazing job. She gave me exactly what I wanted...

Slices and Weaves

Yesterday Kenzie and I did an awesome slice on our friend Tiffany at school. She has just the face shape for it. I want one too but I think I might wait until I start having kids or something....i dont know. I wish i had taken a picture of her color but I didnt think of it but if you see her hopefully you all think its cute!

Also here is a crazy updo a group of us did for a contest at school. Minus the fact that it rained through the whole thing, it was a blast and so beautiful. Sean got to practice his bargaining skills in mexico and buy me some sunglasses and a purse which is awesome. the price started at 45 dollars and he got it down to 20! Very impressive for a first timer.
I have to say one interesting thing about this cruise was there were so many people on this ship that were in their late 40's or so and it was almost their excuse to act like they were 16 again. Some were so drunk they could hardly walk around and they were just loud and obnoxious. I am so happy Sean and I are above that and dont participate in activities like that. In my view....there is a certain time in life when it is time to grow up.
We were able to go on a little tour thing that was about 40 minutes away in Mexico and go to a blow hole. there are only three in the world and so we thought it would be pretty neat. it was pretty awesome. Sean video taped a ton of it along with the rest of the vacation and stuff. I am so happy Sean had the chance to see Mexico and everything for the first time. I cant wait till we go to Honduras this Summer when it wont be raining and everything

<img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; But she is the sweetest little thing and she is almost like a dog. She loves to play fetch, give kisses, and she HAS to be in the same room as you. Well Sean was sick yesterday and stayed home and when I got back from school, he had made an entire video of our cat. He showed it to me and I thought it was hilarious. This is what happens when you leave Sean alone all day....

click here if the above video doesn't work

My Brave Sister

Today I got to spend the day with my older sister Aubreigh. We just ran errands and such and we were walking around target and told me she was wanting to get her ears pierced. I jumped on it and told her that we were going to go do it right then and she was too scared. So after about 45 minutes of not letting it go, she finally gave in and said she would go LOOK at the earrings and think about it. After answering her millions what if questions she finally decided to do it! If anyone knows Aubreigh you understand her what if questions. She can get worried about things sometimes. These questions consisted of "what if the earrings rip out?" what about when I go to sleep? How will I go skiing with a helmet? What if it gets infected? What if a knot forms in the center (I was clueless on this one)? haha but anyways the whole thing wasn't bad at all. She is a nurse and has gone thru a lot worse getting IVs and such.

my sister Aubreigh

Her earrings!!

But we kept it from her hubby Matt that she got it done and we wanted to see how long it took him. He did pretty good...took him only 5 minutes. She turned in her ring to get it rhodiumed so we decided to tell him that she switched in her ring for the earrings cuz they are fake diamond ones haha. But anyways today was fun having the day off and spending it with my sister. She's the best. I am so glad I have her here in Provo. Dont know what i will do without her when we go our own ways after school :-(

Brother in Law Matt- He is Sick

Nothing like a nice massage

I just got back from getting my one hour massage at Remedez by Jeremy. Anyone that ever needs one go to him!! He is really good. Anyways....my body is definitely messed up already from blowdrying and round brushing with hair. Supposedly my left shoulder sits higher than my right one now because my muscle is so tight and knotted. I am going to blame that one on the blow dryer. So he had to give me some exercises to reduce the pain and stretch out the muscle so I can one day look like a normal person again. Then my other shoulder has some issues as well and some mega knots that will take about 3 or 4 visits at least in order to get rid of them. Crazy stuff... Those spots were slightly sensitive to touch and work out but other than that the massage was great. It was just what I needed. And to top it all off I get to sleep in tomorrow because I dont have school! Hooray!
Today at school nothing much happened. We had a make up class and learned about lips and lipstick. Personally I will never wear lipstick but it was still interesting to learn about. Kenzie had the opportunity to make my lips look bigger since I have munchkin lips. So I had sexy lips for a time.
Sean is way busy with school this week. I havent been able to be with him too much but its okay. He has two tests today and he is in the middle of taking one right now. Poor guy. BYU does a good job at beating up their students.

Oh and I almost forgot!!! Sean and I go on our cruise in a couple weeks for our one year and we are stopping in Las Vegas for our half way point. Well you would never believe the cheapest hotel we found is! It is the Stratosphere on the strip. The really tall one with the roller coaster on the top of it. So i would just like to say...in your face Paul Mitchell. The hotel I get to stay at is better than the one you all will be staying at. And on top of that we get to both ride the roller coaster on top for only $12 together. the room only costs about $25 :-)

Hooray for vacations!

Hooray for haircuts!

I'm not sure if I am supposed to say something about myself in the beginning or just dive into my day so I will just sum up me quickly. I am currently living in the lovely Provo, Utah and counting down the days to get out and move somewhere else. I have been married since April 2008 to my husband Sean. He is going to BYU and still has about 2 years left and I am now going to Paul Mitchell the School which is hair school. I love it and love doing hair and making people feel beautiful. :-)

So today I was able to go to my friend's house in Orem and do her hair! It was exciting to see her again since I haven't seen her in a bit. And of course it was a plus to see her cute little 6 month girl Audree...most adorable baby ever. I did an A-line cut on her and we took a bunch off. Probably about 6 or 7 inches. The cut looked really cute on her and it made me want to do it to every person that i saw afterwards. She taught me a really cute way to cut it so you don't get weird corners in the back and I tried it on her and I don't think I will ever go back to the old way of doing them.

Then we tried to color her hair with a demi permanent redken color and both of us couldn't figure out why it was so runny! It honestly was running down her face and just dripping out of her hair. So we left it on for like 30 minutes and she still wasn't taking the color. Well later on Sami figured out that instead of using the developer, we used the clear shine. haha oops! at least her hair was shiney afterwards. So we are going to try it again on Monday.

Sean's brother is staying with us right now just for a couple of days to do some errands around Provo. It has been pretty fun seeing him but I haven't really had the chance to hang out with him and stuff. I ordered us pizza tonight from Costco and was walking it back to my apartment and lost complete control of the box and it fell right in the middle of the slushy wet road and the pizza flew right out. totally ruined the pizza. I was soooo mad and upset because I was at that point when you are so hungry it is literally all you can think about and it almost hurts haha. So we had to take it all the way back to the place and luckily they felt bad enough and gave us a new one.

Sean and his brother Eric

And that's about it! This is kind of awkward to end because I have no idea what to write in these things so I am just gonna end it here....
